At Talent2Africa, the protection and wellbeing of all Academy4Africa program participants are our absolute priorities. This safeguarding policy defines our commitments and procedures to ensure a safe, respectful, and protective environment for everyone.

1. Our Commitment

Talent2Africa is committed to creating and maintaining a safe environment for all Academy4Africa program participants, whether they are young talents, mentors, employer partners, or team members. We have zero tolerance for any form of abuse, harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior.

2. Fundamental Principles

2.1. Respect and Dignity

All participants must be treated with respect, dignity, and consideration, regardless of their origin, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or disability status.

2.2. Protection of Vulnerable Persons

We pay particular attention to the protection of vulnerable persons, especially young people, persons with disabilities, refugees, and all persons who may be exposed to increased risks.

2.3. Best Interest of the Participant

In all our decisions and actions, the best interest of the participant is our absolute priority.

3. Prohibited Behaviors

The following behaviors are strictly prohibited within the Academy4Africa program:

  • Any form of physical, emotional, psychological, or sexual abuse
  • Harassment in all its forms (sexual, moral, discriminatory)
  • Discrimination based on gender, origin, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or any other personal characteristic
  • Exploitation in all its forms
  • The use of a position of authority to obtain favors or advantages
  • Any inappropriate or unprofessional behavior

4. Reporting Procedures

4.1. Reporting Channels

Anyone can report an incident or concern regarding safeguarding through the following means:

4.2. Confidentiality

All reports are treated with strict confidentiality. Information is only shared with persons directly involved in resolving the issue, respecting confidentiality and victim protection.

4.3. Protection of Reporters

We guarantee that no retaliation will be taken against anyone who makes a good faith report. The protection of reporters is an absolute priority.

5. Response to Incidents

5.1. Response Time

We commit to responding to any report within a maximum of 72 hours. For urgent or serious cases, an immediate response is ensured.

5.2. Investigation Process

All reports are subject to a thorough investigation, conducted by a dedicated and trained team. The investigation is conducted fairly, impartially, and respectfully of all parties involved.

5.3. Corrective Measures

In case of confirmation of an incident, appropriate measures are taken immediately, which may include:

  • Suspension or exclusion from the program
  • Removal of access to services
  • Reporting to competent authorities if necessary
  • Support and accompaniment of victims

6. Training and Awareness

All Talent2Africa team members, mentors, and employer partners receive mandatory training on protection and abuse prevention. This training is regularly updated and renewed.

7. Partner Responsibility

All our employer partners are required to respect this safeguarding policy and implement their own protection measures in accordance with our standards. Any breach may result in suspension or termination of the partnership.
